Vincent Alfonso, Ph.D., GSE,
associate dean and professor of school psychology, lectured at Mercy College on April 24, on “Collaboration for Quality Early Childhood Education.”

Mary Bly, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of English, has published (under the pen name Eloisa James) Paris in Love: A Memoir (Random House, 2012).

 

Robert Chazin, D.S.W., GSS,
professor of social work, led a webinar discussion on how to create, manage, evaluate, and fundraise for an international nonprofit organization helping the needy overseas, on March 28, sponsored by The Fordham Center for Nonprofit Leaders.

 

Albert Greco, Ed.D., BUS,
professor of marketing, edited Essential JSP: Critical Insights Into the World of Scholarly Publishing Vol. 2: Scholarly Publishing in Emerging Nations (University of Toronto Press, 2012).

 

Margo A. Jackson, Ph.D., GSE,
associate professor of counseling psychology, was selected to serve on the national Master’s Competencies Workgroup, co-sponsored by the American Psychological Association Society of Counseling Psychology, and the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs (CCPTP), and gave a presentation at the CCPTP Midwinter Conference in Miami in February, titled “Future of Counseling Psychology in Schools of Education: Endorsement of the Master’s Training Competencies.” She also co-published “Biculturalism, Cultural Identity, Self-esteem, and Academic Achievement of African American High School Students,” in the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development.

Hector Lindo-Fuentes, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of history, has published Modernizing Minds in El Salvador: Education reform and the Cold War, 1960-1980 (University of New Mexico Press, 2012), which he co-authored with Erik Ching, Ph.D.

Angela Alaimo O’Donnell, ADM,
associate director for the Curran Center for American Catholic Studies, published The Province of Joy,: Praying with Flannery O'Connor (Paraclete Press, 2012). Her verse “Melivilliana” was published in Verse Wisconsin. O’Donnell’s book, Saint Sinatra & Other Poems (WordTech Communications, 2011), was nominated by Fordham for the Arlin G. Meyer Prize in Imaginative Writing.

Philip M. Napoli, Ph.D., BUS,
professor of communications and media management and director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center, delivered the keynote address at the Transforming Audiences/Transforming Societies conference, held in Brussels in April. In addition, his book, Audience Evolution: New Technologies and the Transformation of Media Audiences (Columbia University Press, 2010) has been named one of three finalists for the Tankard Book Award, by the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication.

Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D., BUS,
dean of the Gabelli School of Business, was honored at the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) on April 12.

Lance Strate, Ph.D., A&S,
professor of communication and media studies, gave a keynote address on “Media and Protest: Technological Change and Cultural Disturbance” at the Symposium on Media, Protest, and Social Change at the College of Management and Academic Studies in Rishon Lezion, Israel, on March 14. He also gave a public lecture on “On the Binding Biases of Time,” for the University of Pittsburgh’s Agora Speaker Series on March 31.

Beth Vallen, Ph.D., BUS,
assistant professor of marketing, received a grant for her research proposal, Packages that Look Like Me: The Non-Conscious Influence of Body Type and Package Shape on Consumers’ Product Choice and Evaluation from the Duke/Ipsos Research Center.
