Technology in Service to Scholarship and Teaching
Our two keynote topics will be:
- Morning session (11:00 am): "The Role of Information Technologies and Libraries in Digital Scholarship," with Ben Vershbow, the Manager of the New York Public Library Digital Labs.
The focus of this session is on the future of scholarship and books in the digital age as well as the close collaboration of information technologies and libraries in modern research.
- Afternoon session (1:15 pm): "It's Not About Technology...: Taming Technology to Serve Pedagogy," with Dr. Paul Freddolino of Michigan State University as well as Dr. Cathy Berkman and Dr. Mary Ann Forgey, Professors at Fordham's Graduate School of Social Service.
The focus of this session is on setting the standard for producing quality online learning programs, where technology is shaped to serve pedagogy, learning goals and outcome assessment.
This session will be followed by a panel presentation and discussion with: Dr. Colt Anderson, Dean of Fordham's Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education, Dr. Steven D'Agustino, Director of the Regional Educational Technology Center, Dr. Hooman Estelami, Professor of Marketing at Fordham's Gabelli School of Business, and Dr. Dale Lindquist, Director of the Online MSW Program at Fordham's Graduate School of Social Work.
Additionally we will have:
- Open Forum, Updates on New Services, Questions and Answers
- Vendor exhibition and prizes throughout the day.
