Software Services & Information Access (SSIA)


SSIA supports Fordham University’s many business and academic needs. We provide IT leadership and guidance by combining our extensive knowledge of the university’s business processes with our technological expertise relating to the various systems, data sources, and applications used by Fordham.

SSIA is responsible for Database Administration, Internet Services, and Software Services.

Database Administration defines and supports the information architecture that facilitates the location, interchange, security, usability, and interoperability of Fordham University's information resources. The DBA areas of emphasis are administering all Oracle and SQL Server databases, Oracle application servers, the University ERP Database (Banner) and other database driven applications.

Internet Services is responsible for website infrastructure. This includes web servers to online applications, such as Content Management Systems and the University Portal. Internet Services is also responsible for web applications from user forms to web analytics and overall content integration and management.

Software Services is responsible for the enhancement, integration, maintenance, and upgrade of the major administrative enterprise software applications including; the Student Information System, the Human Resources System, the Financial Records System, the Development and University Relations System as well as their Web based self service components (OASIS, OASIS for Faculty).  In cooperation with our users, we engage in a variety of research, development and strategic activities to enable the University to use new trends in technology providing solutions for its growing business and administrative needs.
