Confirmare, the University’s six-year Enterprise Resource Planning project, has drawn to a close. All four main University administrative systems have been replaced with one strategic integrated system – Banner. The Steering Committee has been decommissioned and all members congratulated on their exemplary service. It was a long haul, but the University as a whole should be applauded on a job well done!
As there continues to be a need for structured collaboration, a new Enterprise Resource Planning Group (ERP) will be built upon the observed strengths of the Steering Committee, which has served the University well. For example, the Steering Committee did its best work when maintaining cross functional awareness and sensitivity, remaining aware of different populations (e.g. graduate and professional schools) and having strong academic and faculty participation.
The new ERP Group should maintain the same institutional perspective which was the result of having members who took responsibility for communicating with all their related departments, and not taking a narrow, departmental point of view.
The ERP Group will oversee:
• Management of ERP features and proposed departmental add-ons as well as new capabilities, such as
ID and identity management, imaging and work flow, CRM, etc.
• Consensus building.
• Sequencing and coordination of feature adaptation.
• Setting priorities.
• Escalate to VPS when unable to meet their goals.
