Voicemail Setup

Voicemail Setup

Voicemail allows you to receive your own messages, save them, and easily reply to messages from other voicemail subscribers.  Your messages are stamped with the date and time and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Special Note: It is important for all students to set-up their room voicemail boxes so they can get timely information from the University.  A standard touch-tone phone and cord provided by student (connected to the jack provided in the room) is required to set-up your voicemail box.  Students should check for University voicemail messages on a daily basis.

Having voicemail answer your calls
Depending on your settings, the voicemail system will answer your calls using two different methods. You may program the system to:
  • Answer an incoming call if you are already on the line.
  • Answer an incoming call if you do not answer it after three rings.
Note: You may program your voicemail with multiple settings.  For example, you may follow the procedure to have voicemail answer your phone when you are on the line.  Then, after that, follow the procedure to have your voicemail answer incoming calls after three rings.

When you are complete, your voicemail will now activate if you are on the phone or after three rings.
