Job Description - March 2011 DIVISION: Fordham IT User Support
POSITION: Student IT Technicians (SITT)
SUMMARY:
Student IT Technicians work to support faculty and staff at either Rose Hill or Lincoln Center to complete installations and resolve issues relating to software, hardware, and computer peripheral equipment. They are expected to provide a high level of customer service, demonstrate technical skill, exemplary interpersonal skills and maintain a professional attitude at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Student IT Consultants must be registered Fordham students in good academic standing during the semester of their appointment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist faculty/staff/administration who have called the Help Desk for technological assistance in their office or other common areas.
Installation of staff and faculty computers and equipment.
Updating and closing requests with the use of our SDE ticketing system.
Assisting staff with maintaining equipment inventory in SDE.
Other Duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
(Training Provided) Required knowledge:
Proficient with Windows XP
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Familiar with installing and uninstalling software
Familiarity with determining network connectivity Preferred knowledge:
Mac OS X and/or Microsoft Vista Experience
Training will be provided for:
SDE (Magic) ticketing system
Lotus Notes (email) installations
Reinstallation of operating systems with Ghost
Fordham’s Symantec Antivirus client
Installation of other Fordham software
COMPENSATION: For the 2011-2012 academic year, the salary will be $10 per hour. Other Duties as assigned.
