Welcome To The Family!

Fordham IT is pleased to announce some new additions to our family since the first quarter of 2014. Here is a little background about this accomplished group of diverse professionals.





   

Andrew Angelopoulous

       

      Andrew Angelopoulos comes to Fordham's Enterprise Technology Services as its new Unix\Linux Team Lead. Andrew has worked in IT for more than 15 years in and with various IT environments and clients (small shop, software vendor, government, financial, retail, and start-up) and brings a background in leading small teams, hands-on capability, and onsite pre- and post-sales engineering. Andrew looks forward to helping the University streamline process, build infrastructure, and successfully transition into and navigate the evolving IT landscape.



   


Anthony Barracca

         Anthony Barracca is a full-time consultant working in the University Information Security Office as an Information Security Engineer. His primary responsibility is to safeguard and proactively protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information owned and processed by the University. To accomplish these directives, Anthony will take part in security specializations such as incident response, forensics, and vulnerability assessments.
     Prior to working at Fordham, Anthony worked at Flushing Bank and Commerzbank as a data security analyst and information security specialist. During his tenure in financial services, Anthony took on high level and technical roles, serving as an IT team lead for a bring your own device initiative and was a project manager for a security incident and event management deployment. Anthony also worked for Infragard, a non-profit organization that serves as a public-private partnership between U.S businesses, and the FBI as a security engineering intern.
     Anthony completed his undergraduate coursework at St. John’s University, where he earned a BS in cyber security systems, with a concentration in cyber forensics. This fall, Anthony will complete an MS in computer information systems, with a concentration in security from Boston University.




   
 
Glenn Baumann

        
      Glenn Baumann has returned to Fordham IT’s telecommunications team after a 9-month hiatus. Glenn served in past years as the Lincoln Center resident on-site telecom technician providing maintenance, service and adds, and moves and changes to the various PBX system sites that comprise the telecom network.
      Prior to Glenn’s tenure with Fordham, he worked for US West Information Systems, Telecom Plus and, most recently, NEC Unified Solutions. Glenn enjoys helping the Fordham community benefit from its various telecom systems, and he looks forward to learning and moving forward into new telecom technologies with Fordham.




   

Stephen Buckley
                                        
 
      Prior to Fordham, Stephen Buckley worked for 12 years at Central National Gottesman, one of the largest distributors of paper products, inthe capacity of helpdesk/desktop support manager, as well as senior systems engineer. Before CNG, Stephen worked at HealthIS for 11 years as manager, technical lead and trainer. Stephen has extensive experience in user support, training and troubleshooting, and graduated from Mercy College with a degree in mathematics/computer science. Stephen also has Itil Foundation certification.



   

Alex Cohen

      
     Alex Cohen joins Fordham as its newest member of the Messaging Team. Alex comes from FDNY where he was LAN Architect and brings 16 years of total industry experience where he worked on large scale and complex migrations for SharePoint Portals, Directory Services and Messaging Environments.
 
Alex prides himself on getting beyond the technology complexities so that focus can be shifted to addressing business needs and looks forward to helping the messaging team reach their goals as a team and for end users.
 
A former United States Marine, a multimedia artist, and Fantasy Football fan. 




   
 
Wadi Mohammed

         Fordham IT’s telecommunication’s team welcomes the return of Wadi Mohammed as On-site Technician, serving the Rose Hill Campus. He brings 25 years of telecom experience that ranges from small key systems to large PBX systems, including Toshiba, Iwatsu, Tie, Executone, NEC, and VOIP. Wadi has served for the past 16 years as a site technician, primarily with NEC. His experience maintaining NECs has led to positions at Fordham University, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, NYC Dept. of Corrections, Manhattan DA's Office and Affinia Hotels in Manhattan.


 



Kanchan Thaokar
            
     Faculty Technology Services welcomes Kanchan Thaokar. In her new role, Kanchan provides technology enhanced academic support and facilitates the adoption of various learning technologies among faculty via workshops offerings, research, and individual consulting with professors. Kanchan also manages the Academic Computing Environment (ACE), an online research resource for faculty, as well as supports our Blackboard Learn system.
     Kanchan has worked in information technology for the past 12 years, specializing in design, development and analysis of business applications. Her IT experience includes a variety of companies and industries, including Cummins in manufacturing, Ernst and Young in multinational professional services, and Prudential in financial services. Having worked extensively with IBM, Microsoft and Google technologies, Kanchan brings a broad base of experience in management and instructional innovation.
     Kanchan earned a Bachelor’s of Engineering in computer science and an Advanced Diploma in industrial and business management from Pune University, India. She is also a certified Google Apps Administrator and holds multiple IBM professional/trainer certificates.




   

 
Joyce Tyrrell

       Joyce Tyrrell joins Fordham IT as the Assistant Director of Unified Communications and Services. She brings over 20 years of telecommunications and networking experience with her. Joyce’s prior experience includes working for companies such as Nortel Networks, Williams Communications, NextiraOne, and most recently British Telecom. Her positions in telecommunications include system design specialist, field service technician, technical support engineer, and technical training manager.
     Joyce holds degrees in network administration and network communication management from DeVry University and received Cisco certifications in routing and switching, voice, and video. Her current role includes contributing her technical knowledge to a collaborative effort to bring unified communications to Fordham University. She is excited to be working at Fordham and looks forward to adding her expertise to a talented team.



   
 
Chelsi Wilson


       
      Chelsi Wilson joins the IT Customer Care team as a Senior IT Analyst.  Prior to Fordham, Chelsi worked at Manhattanville College where she held roles as Applications Administrator and User Services Technician.  Her responsibilities included the administration of Exchange accounts and mailing lists (listservs), management of institution’s ePortfolio system and other 3rd party applications.  Chelsi served as the point of contact for all email related inquiries and as the functional analyst for Blackboard and Raiser's Edge. Her duties also included operational support and issue resolution for various hardware and software inquiries submitted by faculty, staff, and students.  Chelsi is customer service driven with a strong passion to maximize user satisfaction by providing accurate and understandable solutions in a patient and pleasant manner.  Chelsi graduated from Pace University where she earned her Bachelors in Computer Science.


   


Nicole Zeidan
                                       
        Nicole Zeidan is Faculty Technology Service's newest Instructional Technologist. In this role, she supports the faculty in their technological needs for teaching and scholarly activities. Specifically, she will consult with faculty on blended and online education, classroom teaching, research, and digital media production.
      Nicole most recently worked for Fordham’s IT Customer Care as a Senior Analyst, where she provided Tier 2 support, addressed IT Customer Care escalations, started a Meet & Greet program in which IT staff were introduced to staff from other departments, helped manage relationships with IT’s partners in the University community, and assisted with the training development for IT Customer Care staff. Nicole is also a moderator for Fordham IT's Innovation Group, where IT staff collaborate on ideas to improve the work and university environment. She recently completed the Fordham IT’s Laureate Program and was recently accepted into Fordham's Graduate School of Business' Executive MBA program.
