This is a list of past alerts and preventative maintenance items. We will attempt to archive the alerts for at least 6 months.
|Banner Scheduled Maintenance August 7, 11:00 PM through August 8, 2:00 AM
Banner will undergo scheduled maintenance from Thursday, August 7, 11:00 PM through Friday, August 8, 2:00 AM.
Self-Service Banner (SSB) and Internet Native Banner (INB) services will be unavailable, including Advancement, Human Resources, Finance and the Student Information System. Also affected will be student registration, class schedules, transcript requests, available courses, online payments, Banner reporting, and the 411.fordham.edu directory. New users will be unable to claim a my.fordham account; however, password changes and resets can still be made.
Services accessed via my.fordham will be available, including Gmail, Degreeworks, and Blackboard. Network connectivity between the Fordham campuses and Internet access will also operate normally.

Tests & Upgrades of Student Information System & Campus Networks: July 18, 12:30 PM - 7:30 PM
On Friday, July 18, starting at 12:30 PM and ending no later than 7:30 PM, Fordham IT will perform a test of our disaster readiness. Services such Gmail, Degreeworks, and Blackboard, that are accessed via the University portal, My.Fordham, will very likely also experience interruptions. At times the Student Information System may appear to be online, but any work or transactions performed in the system will not be saved. In addition, there will be unpredictable breaks in connectivity between the Fordham campus networks, as well as sustained Internet outages.
Firewalls Upgrade, July 10-11, 10:00 PM - 4:00 AM
On Thursday, July 10 at 10:00 PM and ending no later than Friday, July 11 at 4:00 AM, there will be one brief outage for each of the following systems while we upgrade the firewalls:
Banner (INERP, SSRP), Degreeworks, DLS-VC Video Capture (echo360dls.fordham), Dupe-copy, Fass, faweb, FSA Atlas, Infosilem, IT-right02 (facts.fordham), PayBase, PowerFAIDS, Reporting.fordham, Tableau, TM1, TrustWave NAC, Secure.fordham. edu., VPN.
Each outage will not last for more than 15 minutes.
| P: & S: Drive Maintenance, June 20, 8:30PM - 10:30PM
On Friday, June 20, from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, P: and S: drives will undergo routine maintenance. All users should log off by 8:30 PM and remain logged off until the maintenance is complete.
Files left open during the maintenance window will be disconnected and may experience issues when being saved. To avoid problems, save the files locally, log off, and when the maintenance is completed, log on and move the saved files to the P: or S: drive.
Internet Access Unavailable June 10, 10PM - 12AM
Internet access will be unavailable for Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campus administrators tomorrow, June 10, between 10PM - 12AM. The Network Operations group will be doing maintenance and firmware upgrade on the switches at that time. Wireless access will not be affected.
|Brief Network Outage Scheduled for April 4, 5:00 AM - 5:30 AM
On April 4, between 5:00 AM and 5:30 AM, Fordham's wireless network will undergo an important service upgrade.
During this time, access to the network will be unavailable in all dorms, classrooms, and public spaces at the Lincoln Center, Rose Hill, and Westchester campuses.
|On Friday, February 14, 2014, beginning at 5:00 AM and ending no later than 7:00 AM, service for the Fordham VPN may be interrupted for users who try to log in at that time or are currently using the network.
Fordham IT is upgrading the current software and intermittent outages are a possibility. Please be advised that this upgrade may be postponed due to the winter storm. If thatis the case, VPN service will continue tomorrow without any interruption.

Banner Outage: 12:00AM Monday, January, 6, 2014 thru 3:00AM Monday, January, 6, 2014
The Advancement, Human Resource, Finance and Student Information Systems (Banner) will be unavailable beginning at 12:00AM Monday, January, 6 through 3:00AM Monday January 6th, 2014, due to a regulatory maintenance.
During this time both Self-Service (Banner) (SSB) and Internet Native (Banner) (INB) will be unavailable. This includes student registration, class schedules, transcript requests, available courses, on-line payments, Advancement, Finance, HR and Banner reporting, etc.
The University portal, My.Fordham.edu will be available during this time, as will all non-Banner services accessible via the portal, such as E-mail, Degreeworks, Blackboard, etc.

P: Drive (My Documents) & Shared Drive Storage Improvements.
Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10PM thru Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10PM
In response to the overwhelming demand for storage Fordham IT is planning a major upgrade to our current system storage capacity over the winter break. Upon completion this upgrade will provide:
· Ample storage capacity to meet increased demand going forward
· A much more reliable, faster and robust system
We have scheduled the upgrade during a time period that hopefully will be least impactful to the user community.
The upgrade will begin on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10PM and continue through Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10PM.
Before leaving for the break we ask that you log off your office computer and refrain from using your work PC/Mac during the upgrade time frame. In addition to logging off Mac users should first reboot. We recommend that laptop users log off the network during the upgrade to avoid any potential issues.
Please note: This upgrade affects only the P:& S : drives on your computer and has no impact on any other IT service, e.g. email.
If your computer is inadvertently left logged on the machine may not make a smooth transition, e.g. drives may not reconnect. However one or two reboots should clear any issues.
