- When you have installed the necessary anti-virus and security software you will be able to access the wireless network from any of the available access points on campus. The default network settings should be set to DHCP. This means that upon connection you will automatically be assigned an IP address. The name of the wireless network on the Rose Hill campus is FORDHAMRH and at Lincoln Center FORDHAMLC. These names will appear in the SSID or ESSID fields.

- Verify that the wireless NIC card is inserted into the PCMCIA slot correctly. The indicator lights on the card should be blinking.

- Verify that there is adequate signal strength. The higher the signal – the faster the network connection. The signal strength icon is usually located on the taskbar.
