Enterprise Print

The University’s evolving enterprise technology platform has reached the point at which it is possible to develop a new standard model for administrative and academic office printing – as well as work with departments to reduce print and copy.  Envisioned as a multi-year initiative involving most University departments, “Enterprise Print”  involves the adoption of networked multifunctional equipment (copy/print/fax/scan), the efficient management of their procurement, life cycle, and maintenance. We are providing new tools  to report  on print usage and costs (paper, toner, electricity) enabling department’s to make more informed decisions on spending and usage. The program is implemented in selected University departments. After each participating department is satisfied that the program meets their needs, older inefficient desktop and laser printers are being collected and retired.

Savings costs are expected to be substantial.  The areas of direct savings include: hardware, energy, paper, print supplies, and postage.
