Meet the Career Services Staff

Stefany Fattor joined Career Services in August 2010 after serving as Internship Program Director and Trading Room Manager at Ithaca College, School of Business. Stefany earned a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas and plans to use her experience in both business and education to elevate the level of services offered to both Fordham students and employers. As Director of Career Services, she is focused on streamlining operations, rebranding the office and improving student engagement and employer relations. The economy has changed the landscape of career services nationwide, and Stefany plans to poise Fordham University's Career Services as a dynamic leader while proactively navigating these changes. |

Bernie Stratford has promoted career education and student leadership within the Fordham community for close to thirty years. Prior to his current role as Director of Experiential Education, Bernie served as Director of Career Services for sixteen years in addition to serving, with historic distinction, as Dean of Students at all three University campuses. His current responsibilities include working closely with Career Services to deliver comprehensive career education, while coordinating and managing the undergraduate internship program. |

Holly Rotchin joined Career Services in March 2010. A native of Montreal, QC, Holly began her academic career at McGill University and completed her graduate study at New York University. As Associate Director, Holly provides values, interests and strengths-based counseling to undergraduates, graduates and alumni. Holly speaks at campus-wide admission events, internship seminars and student leader orientations. In addition, Holly works to advance recruitment initiatives through liaising with employers from varied industries. |

Cassie Sklarz joined Career Services in June of 2011, after working with the Office of Residential Life at Fordham University since July 2008. Cassie received her M.S.ed. from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta in Counselor Education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from SUNY Oneonta as well. As Associate Director, Cassie develops Special Programs and coordinates assessment for many functions within the Office of Career Services. Cassie is excited to be working with students in this capacity and is looking forward to offering services that are well received and useful to our students in the ever changing job market. |

Kathlene joined Fordham University as the Assistant Director/Employer Relations Coordinator in January 2011 after working in the Human Resources field for over six years. Kathlene earned her B.S. degree in Business Administration from Marist College and has maintained her PHR certificate since 2007. Kathlene used her many years of recruiting experience to assist employers in crafting the best strategy to connect with students on campus. In July 2012, she moved into a new role as the Associate Director Employer Relations, Gabelli School of Business Liaison. Kathlene is excited to partner with academic departments to develop targeted offerings for students, as well as continue relationship building and active outreach with employers. |

Tamara completed her Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling in May 2012 from Teachers College, Columbia University. She joined Career Services as a Career Counseling Graduate Intern in September 2011 during her final year of graduate study. As the Assistant Director of Employer Relations, Tamara builds and maintains relationships with employers both on and off campus. She also provides career counseling services to students in all stages of their professional development and is passionate about assisting students and alumni with their career exploration process. Through her experiences with employers and students she is better informed to prepare students to secure experience in their field of choice and is able to connect employers with the students that are the best fit for their companies. Tamara also plans Career Fairs and Career Views, as well as provides resume reviews, mock interviews and presents various career development workshops. |

Laura Greenbaum graduated from Pace University in May 2010 with her Bachelors of Arts degree in Applied Psychology. She is continuing her education in the Mental Health Counseling Program in the Graduate School of Education at Fordham. As the Employer Experience Specialist, Laura provides resume and cover letter critiques, career advice and job search strategies for all undergraduates. She manages the on campus employer experience and works closely with recruiting partners while on campus for all Career Services events, accommodating all requests. In addition, Laura provides a variety of career management/networking events to students. While providing support to both students and employers at Fordham, she continues to pursue her career in counseling.

Christina Jacques joined Career Services in August 2012 after working as an Admissions Counselor with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. She earned her MS. Ed in school counseling from Long Island University in 2010 after receiving a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. Christina works with employers to schedule on campus recruiting interviews, information sessions and other such events. As part of the Employer Experience Team, she helps maintain relationships and ensure a positive and successful employer experience. Christina also handles daily office duties, counsels students and presents workshops along with her colleagues. |

Kate joined Career Services in June of 2012, after a two year stint in media advertising. She is a 2010 graduate of Ithaca College, where she earned her B.A. in Communication Studies, with a minor in Psychology. As the Assistant Director, Marketing & Student Engagement, Kate works with various student groups across campus to implement recruitment initiatives. She also manages the office's social media forums, blogs about trends in the recruitment field, and maintains the Career Services website. When not using her loud personality to recruit on campus and online, Kate provides resume and cover letter critiques, and career counseling at Lincoln Center. Her door is always open! |

Erin joined Career Services in September 2012 and started at Fordham University as a Resident Director in the Office of Residential Life in March 2010. Hailing from Scotland, Erin proudly attended Syracuse University as a Pan Am Flight 103 Lockerbie and Remembrance Scholar and received her B.A. in History in 2007. She went on to earn her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from New York University in 2009 and held a Student Life graduate assistantship at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. As Assistant Director Erin serves as the Facilitator to the Fordham Career Ambassador program and will work to meet and further the goals of these student leaders through the Fordham Futures framework. Additionally, Erin will provide career counseling and education to students through one on one meetings and outreach events. Erin is thrilled to be continuing her work with the Fordham student body and is looking forward to advancing the mission of the Office of Career Services. |

Maria Aponte, a former HEOP Counselor and Tutor Coordinator in the TRiO Programs, works closely with students searching for career opportunities.A graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, Maria holds a B.A. in English Literature and a minor in Latin American Literature. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies at Fordham University. As Recruiting Coordinator, Maria manages all aspects of the recruitment process to ensure that employers and students have a positive and productive interviewing experience. |

Jorimel Zaldivar attained his M.A. in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University and brings to his role over 10 years of experience in both career services and employer-side recruitment. Jorimel joined Fordham as a Graduate Intern in August 2010, while completing his final year of graduate school. As a Career Counselor, he provides individual career counseling and interprets career assessments for the students and alumni of Lincoln Center and Rose Hill. Jorimel enjoys contributing to the professional growth of his counselees and is dedicated to the field of vocational development. |

Abigail Woods Ferreira joined Fordham University Career Services in 2011. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Education from Franciscan University and a Masters of Science in Education, Mental Health Counseling, from the Fordham Graduate School of Education. Prior to her appointment at Fordham she was a high school teacher for the Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Diocese of Bridgeport, and she is also an alumnus of the Baruch College Starr Career Development Center's Counseling Externship program. Abigail draws upon her counseling skills and classroom teacher experiences to help up and coming educators develop resumes, hone their interview skills, understand the market, and to provide support throughout the process. She networks with schools and mental health agencies to put employers in contact with students through Information Sessions, On Campus Recruiting, and the Annual GSE Career Fair. She also aids undergraduates interested in education and the liberal arts to navigate their career and graduate school options. |

Over the course of several years, Kanika has gained experience in counseling individuals for career exploration, building interview skills, editing resumes and cover letters, networking and searching for internships. Kanika graduated summa cum laude from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She was also a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s golf team at San Jose State. Kanika will be getting her Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University in May 2013. As a Career Counselor, she looks forward to assisting Fordham students maximize their career potentials. |

Kristin graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and will receive her Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2013. She has varied professional experience, having worked in public relations for two years before pursuing her interests in human services and counseling. She was also involved in hiring and recruitment efforts at a mid-sized corporation in New Jersey. Kristin utilizes her professional background and experience on the employer side of recruiting to help students build their resumes, cultivate their interviewing skills, explore their options, and prepare for their future careers. |
