Diversity Networking Banquet

Program History

This program has been designed to provide our increasingly multicultural and diverse student population with a valuable student/employer and alumni networking/recruiting forum. Over the past two years, our annual events have proven to be a success and attract increased annual participation from both students and employers! Our office successfully secured twelve employer sponsors in 2005 with a commitment to supporting diversity initiatives and an interest in recruiting diverse students for internship and entry level opportunities compared to Fall 2004 where only 9 employers sponsored this event.

This event will offer employers an ideal recruiting venue for internship and/or entry level employment recruiting needs. It is also an ideal way for employers to increase their visibility on campus and be recognized for supporting the career development needs of our students.

Students who participate will be prepared in advance in terms of networking, dining and general professional etiquette. Resumes of all students in attendance will be reviewed and collected and distributed to employers via cd-rom. In addition, employer donations will be requested in advance as a means to collectively compile donated employer give-aways and gift bags for all students in attendance. Employers will receive special University acknowledgement and be rewarded Plaques for their support of Diversity programming sponsorship at Fordham University.

Employer Registration

Employer representative’s who are interested in attending are asked to contribute a $1,000 sponsorship fee and complete an employer criteria sheet/registration form. Registration at this high profile venue will guarantee marketing of the company in advance in addition to the recruitment of 8-10 students at each employer table based on the criteria presented to us. Employers will also receive resumes of all students who participate at this event. Our employer partners and attending representatives will also receive University wide recognition for their support and involvement in our Diversity career development initiatives.
