GSE Alumni & Students
Welcome to GSE Career Services! We are dedicated to helping you - future educators, psychologists and mental health professionals - with all stages of your career journey. Whether you need a resume review, networking opportunities with schools and organizations, advice about a career change, or counseling about what program of study will best apply to your career goals, we can help.
Appointments are available either in person or by phone to help you with your career needs, including counseling, support, and resume and cover letter review. You can access and schedule your appointment through the CareerLink system.
We know that as graduate students your schedules are busy, and it is not always possible to come in person for a resume review. You may email as a Word attachment your resume, cover letter, application essays, and any other documents to aferreira3@fordham.edu for review. We will review the documents, make suggestions, and return them to you within 3 university business days during the school year. Please allow 8 business days during the summer (July-August).
Mock interviews are an excellent way to prepare your answers, get over “jitters” before an interview with an employer, and receive feedback about your performance. You can schedule one through CareerLink.
Job opportunities are regularly posted on CareerLink. Please check them regularly as they are updated often, especially in the spring!
Information Sessions are an excellent way to learn more about schools and educational organizations and network one on one with employers in a small group setting. They are about an hour long. To find out more, check the events calendar.
OCR takes place throughout the year. Please check the schedule and register in CareerLink. Before participating in OCR, you are required to have your resume reviewed, either in person or via email.
The Lincoln Center Career Fair will be held on January 31, 2013, from n the Pope Auditorium at Lincoln Center, and will feature a wide range of employers from Arts, Media, Education and Service, covering all of the degrees and programs in the GSE. Check back regularly for updated employer lists and registration information.
During the year, GSE also hosts special events with employers, students, and alumni. Events can include employer panels, alumni networking events, and roundtables. Please check our calendar for more information! |
