Alumni

Dear FUEMS/SERG Alumnus,

Saint Ignatius of Loyola taught of the importance “to give and not to count the cost…to labor and not to ask for reward…to be men and women for others.” Although these teachings are an integral part of a Jesuit education, they cannot be taught or learned in the classroom, but instead must be learned from experience through service to others. Fordham University Emergency Medical Services (FUEMS) was founded on these Ignatian principles and, 30 years later, we are still committed to fulfilling our original mission: to serve the students, faculty, staff, and friends of Fordham University by providing the highest level of emergency medical care possible.

On Friday, April 17, 2009, FUEMS will host its annual celebration of service to the Fordham community. It is my sincerest hope that each and every one of you will be able to attend these years’ festivities, as you have without a doubt played an integral role in the formation of the organization.  Without your help, we would not have been able to grow into the organization that we are today.

Please keep an eye out for an official invitation to the event at the beginning of February.  If you have recently had an address change, please send your updated information to EMS@fordham.edu so that we can be sure to get the invitation to you.  Also, please check out our new blog at www.fuems.blogspot.com for updated information on the organization.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,
Matthew Niehaus
Director FUEMS, 2007-2009
