St. Barnabas Hospital is a designated 911 Receiving Hospital, a Regional Trauma Center (Level 1), an Emergency Heart Care Center, and the first hospital in the Bronx to be designated as a Stroke Center. |

Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center operates five ambulances in the New York City 911 E.M.S system. Four basic life support units and one advanced life support paramedic unit respond solely to 911 emergencies in the communities of the Northeast Bronx around the clock. They provide an excellent EMT certification course to which we send many students. |
