Crew Chief Skills Worksheet

 

            This worksheet will serve as the primary means by which a prospective crew chief can demonstrate that he or she possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to lead a FUEMS duty crew.  The worksheet ensures that the candidate is familiar with FUEMS operating procedures and that the candidate is capable of rendering care for the variety of medical emergencies with which they will come into contact as a FUEMS crew chief.  The candidate must meet all of the requirements set forth in this worksheet and review the FUEMS Crew Chief Manual in order to be considered for clearance as a crew chief.

 

Upon completion of these requirements, a referral will be made to the Chief of FUEMS.  After a meeting with the candidate, the Chief will consult with the crew chiefs with whom the candidate rode and will review the Prehospital Care Reports written by the candidate.  Following this consultation and review, the Chief will make a formal decision concerning the candidate’s eligibility to attain crew chief status.

 

The areas in this worksheet marked “FAIL” are critical skills that a candidate MUST demonstrate satisfactorily in order to be cleared.
