Passes

  • Free passes are available to students in the following situations:
    • For classes:
      • If you are a resident in Fordham-owned on- or off-campus housing and take class at an alternate campus.
      • If you are a commuter student and take class at more than one campus simultaneously.  (Note: If you do not live in Fordham-owned housing you are considered a commuter student regardless of the proximity of your residence to any campus.)
    • For internships:
      • If you have an unpaid internship at any location that is closest to a campus that you do not attend.
  • To obtain free passes:
    • For classes:
      • Before the last day of add/drop for the semester, you may come to the office with a valid Fordham ID and a copy of your class schedule.  You will receive enough passes to last you through the end of the add/drop period.
      • After the last day of add/drop you must come to the Ram Van Office with a valid Fordham ID and a copy of your class schedule printed from OASIS dated after the add/drop period. After verification, you will have the option of receiving enough passes for the entire term or in 5 week intervals.  After 5 weeks simply return to the Ram Van Office with your Fordham ID to receive more passes, if applicable.
    • For internships:
      • You must receive a note from your employer printed on their letterhead stating that the internship is unpaid and the days of the week that you work.
      • Bring that letter to the office of Career Planning and Placement to receive a cover sheet.
      • Bring both the letter and the cover sheet to the Ram Van Office to receive passes.
  • Passes are valid during all hours of operation, however, students are expected to use the passes only for the pursose for which they were distributed. Students are required to verify upon receipt that they have received the adequate number of passes for either the 5 week period or the entire semester, depending on howthey choose to receive their passes. At this point, the student becomes solely responsible for the proper use of passes.
  • The Ram Van office is not responsible for lost or stolen passes. If your passes are lost or stolen, you will only receive more at the five week renewal date, if you chose to receive your passes every five weeks.
  • Passes are for the student who received them only. Any recipient of passes caught selling their passes will be reported to the Dean of Student Life and Security.
