In 1920, Fordham University founded the College of Business Administration in an effort to produce more adaptable graduates for an ever-expanding business world. However, as the challenges faced by the top industries evolved, so did the needs of our students, and thus, many aspects of the college itself – from our programs and curricula to even our location. Despite all these transformations, though, three things remain the same at CBA: our commitment to the traditions of Jesuit education, our respect for our students' potential, and our success in creating proven, well-rounded professionals who are among the most sought after graduates from any University, let alone one in the business capital of the world.
CBA aims its programs at fostering ethical business leaders in a global setting who expect and embrace both change and lifelong learning. After all, living and learning in New York creates endless opportunities for students who seek a competitive edge in the global marketplace. We help our students take advantage of these opportunities through endeavors such as our internship program, which offers opportunities at over one hundred companies; the CEO Breakfast Club, where students network with top executives and discuss issues in a relaxed setting; and the GLOBE program, which combines the multidisciplinary study of international business with the study of foreign languages and cultures. There are also several undergraduate research options, such as the CBA Honors Thesis Program and The Boyle Society, as well as our international programs. Additionally, our students often successfully compete in outside opportunities such as the New York State Society of Security Analysts Research Writing Competition and the PriceWaterhouseCoopers Xtax & XAct Challenges. There is a niche for every interest and specialty at Fordham.
If you let it, CBA will immerse you in a dynamic educational environment that integrates experiential learning, classroom instruction, and ethical decision making processes.
I wish you a successful lifetime of challenging learning.
