Management

The management curriculum provides students with a thorough understanding of the principles of management within the historical and ethical framework of a classical liberal arts education. Major themes include international business, continual process improvement, entrepreneurship, and human resource management. Students can choose a concentration in management systems or human resource management.

Faculty members are currently working on research projects involving process improvement, the impact of technological change in emerging economies, self-learning systems, health care dynamics, and empirical studies concerning management decision-making in European and Pacific Rim countries. Faculty members often invite students to participate in research projects on an individual basis.

A concentration in management offers a selection from a wide range of opportunities: gaining employment as managers in large corporations, entering family business, and pursuing an M.B.A. or law degree.
