Dear CBA Seniors,
Welcome to the Class of 2008
It gives me great pleasure to welcome all members of the Class of 2008. This will be your last year at Fordham’s College of Business and it will be your most memorable. It’s hard to believe that only three years ago you were freshmen, unsure of what was ahead at Fordham, and unsure of what path you were planning to explore. Now you are confident seniors, ready to make your mark in business.
There is no question that Fordham has given you the best academic program to help you achieve excellence. But, at CBA, we want to ensure that you are not only academically prepared, but personally prepared. We have a seminar scheduled in September where you will meet with representatives from JP Morgan Chase, BDO Seidman, SMART & Associates, and Ameriprise to discuss how to set up your resume and prepare for those difficult interview questions. Also, in November we will have an evening with J.Crew and City Reality to discuss professional attire for client and dress-down days, along with how to approach looking for an apartment after graduation. On October 18th, Mr. Stephen McGuinness, Managing Director, Goldman Sachs, will spend an evening reviewing resumes and giving helpful advice on how to make your resume standout among the rest. These are just a few of the opportunities to help you become more professional and to carry the Fordham name proudly.
My advice to you this year is to stay focused, it is an important year where you will be making critical decisions. I am here to support each of you and I look forward to a wonderful year.
Sincerely,
Nancy McCarthy,
Assistant Dean, Advisor to the Senior Class
