DOCTORAL DISSERTATION COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Fordham Pricing Center congratulates the two winners of the competition for the best dissertation proposals on the behavioral aspects of prices: Jodie Ferguson and Yupin Patarapongsant. 

Yupin’s dissertation is on “The Effects of a Certified Cobrand and Price on Consumers’ Product Evaluations and Purchase Intentions.” Yupin’s advisor is Kent Monroe, J. M. Jones Distinguished Professor of Marketing Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jodie’s dissertation is on “Beliefs of Fair Price Setting Rules, Pervasiveness in the Marketplace and Effects on Perceptions of Price Fairness.”  Jodie’s advisor is Pam Scholder Ellen, Associate Professor of Marketing, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University.

The winners each received $1,000 and presented their dissertation at a behavioral pricing conference held at Fordham University on September 28-29, 2007.
