The Father Boyle Society was founded to encourage talented student in CBA to seek out opportunities that are both academic and professional.
Distinguished students are invited to apply as early as their Sophomore year. The Society is designed to offer the college’s best scholars a portal to distinguished opportunities, including prestigious scholarships such as The British Marshall, Rhodes and Fulbright, as well as other competitive scholarly programs. |
The society also empowers students to interact with distinguished alumni (including Boyle Alumni), who may serve as mentors in pre-professional settings. Members of the society should encompass the vision of Rev. William E. Boyle, S.J. which consisted of the ideals that positive thinking makes all things possible, students should love knowledge, set goals, be leaders, give back to their community, live one’s life to the fullest, and to not just learn, but "do it." Interested students should consult with their class dean for more information regarding the entrance requirements and the benefits of the society.
- Students must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher in order to be eligible. For the 2006-2007 school year, once a student has received his or her invitation, applications should be sent to Room 359, Faber Hall by March 13, 2006.
- Once members of the society, students are expected to participate in some form of service to the Fordham community that may include (but is not limited to): three activities involving tutoring, mentoring, and research with a faculty advisor.
Currently, there are 32 members of the Boyle Society. Click here to see what past scholars have to say about the program.
