Metro NY Council

The Metro New York CLC Council is comprised of members elected from each of the local CLC groups. The Metro Council works in close collaboration with our regions Ecclessial Assitant, Father Daniel J. Fitzpatrick, S.J.. Father Dan is both our Moderator and Spiritual Guide.

The Council is assembled to help us maintain a clear idea of the CLC goal, the processes, and of our own mission. Our Guide and Moderator helps the community to discern the movements at work as individuals and in the community at large.

5 Year Apostolic Plan - 2006 - 2010

In 1994, the Metro NY CLC Council sponsored development of and adopted a 5 Year Apostolic Plan. The Plan was designed to provide a prioritised framework of focus for Metro Council activities. The plan communicated our most important organizational initiatives aimed at fostering the spiritual growth of our members as well as the role of the CLC in the wider community. The preliminary 2006 5-year plan continues and reinforces that framework. View the Updated 5 Year Plan

While CLC is guided by General Principles and General Norms and by the Charism Formation Guidelines, still the need exists to direct individual and community energies toward specific areas. Within the framework of CLC, goals are focused to achieve common purpose.

The plan outlines 5 areas of focus:

  1. STRENTGHEN INDIVIDUAL COMMITMENT to CLC way of life
  2. Define CLC PROCESS OF GROWTH
  3. BROADEN CLC PRESENCE in the wider community
  4. STRENGTHEN OUR COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUITS in the New York Province
  5. PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CLC COMMUNITIES
