Special Services

Special Services

Food Service

Food service will be available in the McGinley Center on Saturday, May 18 from 7:30 a.m. until after the University commencement ceremony. Food and drinks may also be purchased at various locations around Edwards Parade.

Services for People with Disabilities

All ceremony locations are accessible, and all accessible restrooms on Campus will be clearly marked. There is no designated wheelchair seating at the ceremonies, however you can pull up to any row at the ceremonies with a wheelchair for seating.  The University Commencement ceremony will be videocast (rain or shine) in the O'Keefe Commons of O'Hare Hall and in Keating First Lecture Hall, which are air-conditioned and accessible.

Please note that if someone with a physical disability is accompanying your group to the ceremonies, you should enter the Campus through the Main Entrance on Southern/Kazimiroff Boulevard, across from the New York Botanical Gardens. From there, you will be directed to the parking garage where there will be a golf cart tram station. The trams (which hold a foldable wheelchair if you are bringing your own wheelchair) will be running continuously throughout the day to and from the garage and all major ceremony locations. Reservations are not required for the trams, and all members of your party are welcome to ride the trams. People needing special assistance should be dropped off at the tram station while the rest of your group parks.

If you or your family members need a sign language interpreter for the ceremonies, arrangements need to be made at least 2 weeks in advance by contacting Carolyn Mooney, Director of Disability Services for Students, at mooney@fordham.edu.  Please indicate in the email which ceremonies you plan to attend.

As parking and ceremony seating is on a first come, first served basis, we highly recommend that you plan to arrive on Campus early.  Please note that Fordham is not able to provide wheelchairs for guests. If you have additional questions please contact Carolyn Mooney at mooney@fordham.edu.
