Student Employment Office
Work Study Placement Form
2008 Summer

February 2008

Dear Student,

The Office of Student Employment will be offering work opportunities under the Work-Study Program for the summer period May 14 thru September 2, 2008.

For the Summer’08 Program, positions will be available on both campuses at rates that range between $8.25 to $13.00 per hour depending upon skills. Once again this year, we are pleased to offer students residing at the Rose Hill campus who remain employed the entire summer and work 35 hours per week, a discount of 75% off summer housing. This discount will be applied to your account upon completion of the summer work program. The work week will coincide with the University's summer calendar. If you do not work for the entire Summer Program, the housing discount will not be authorized and you will be responsible for the full cost of housing. For further information regarding this housing discount, please contact the Office of Student Employment.

In order to be eligible for a position, students must complete the following:

1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filed no later than April 7, 2008. (www.FAFSA.ed.gov)

2. Placement Form for Summer Work-Study. Please complete and return the Placement Form to the Office of Student Employment, Thebaud Hall, 1st Fl., Fordham University, Bronx, NY 10458 by April 7, 2008.

You will be notified within the last week of April or the first week of May if a position will be offered to you provided you have completed the above forms by the required deadline. Applicants are screened on the basis of financial need, skills, and availability. The awarding of summer work-study is on a first come, first serve basis and is a separate and distinct process from the awarding of work-study for the academic year. To obtain a list of the types of positions offered, please see our on-line list of job categories.

Looking forward to working with you this summer.

Thank you,
Office of Student Employment
