In spite of the extended Portal deployment timeframe(3 years), this training is being offered for any department that may need to manage groups.
The groups, aside from the obvious like student clubs, groups could be defined as broadly as:
members of a committee,
members who all use the same administrative applications (finance),
members who are receiving the same Financial Aid award (?),
members who are all Student Workers,
members who all drive the Ram Vans...
I hope you get the idea of the possibilities. This is one of the features we can begin to use even without Banner functionality so the training will be open to any staff who want to attend.
Who should attend:
The attendees should be persons who would eventually be considered the Groups administrators for their areas. There may be more than one. Please sign up early to reserve your space but you will be expected to attend if you reserve a seat.
This session will only take half a day and will be offered either for a morning session or afternoon session so people can pick the one that best fits their schedule.
You will most probably also want to register for one of the Announcements Training classes offered the folowing day.
