Philanthropy is one of them. When you contribute to Fordham’s Annual Fund, you are sending a valuable message to your children. You are leading by example and telling them that the act of giving is important and should be a part of each and everyone’s lives.
By giving to Fordham you are also saying that you support their academic pursuits and the choice they made in attending Fordham. And finally, a gift to the Parents' Fund signifies a vote of confidence in this institution that will influence other students and parents when it is time to make their choice to attend or support.
The University's achievements over the years are the direct result of generous gifts from people who have supported Fordham's dedication to excellence in teaching, scholarship and the enrichment of human life.
As the lifeblood of the University, Fordham recognizes the special commitment of parents who contribute to the Parents' Fund. Tuition and fees only cover 70% of what it costs to operate Fordham University. Annual Fund gifts from our alumni, parents and friends help to make up this difference in expenses.
Dollars from the Parents' Fund are allocated each year to areas that enhance the undergraduate experience. Because so much of learning at Fordham goes on outside the classroom, Parents' Fund monies are designated for programs and facilities both inside and beyond the classroom.
Every gift—large or small—made to the University is important. Your philanthropy helps:
- Secure and retain the best scholars, teachers, and researchers
- Launch new undergraduate courses
- Provide seminars with distinguished visitors
- Support student clubs and organizations

Any gifts received between July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008, will be considered Jubilee gifts and will count toward your class goal. If you have never made a gift to Fordham, your Jubilee year is the perfect time to participate. If you have given in the past, please consider increasing your gift amount to commemorate this special year.
