The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is a student organization representing all graduate students in the Fordham University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Its purpose is to promote academic excellence, provide a forum for the expression of opinion by graduate students, facilitate communications and joint activities within the various departments of Graduate School, and to promote the graduate school culture.
The GSA is run by two executive officers, the president and vice president, who are selected by the GSA Council in the Spring. The Council is made up of representatives from each graduate department and program, and meets once a month during the academic year. Locations for all meetings will be announced at the beginning of the semester. Use the Upcoming Events link on the left to view meeting dates; they will also be posted on the blog at fordhamgsa.blogspot.com. All are welcome to attend Council Meetings.
Each student pays a GSA activities fee of $100 per semester, which goes directly to the GSA to provide a wide range of activities and services. These activities include, but are not limited to, conference travel grants, subsidized tickets to cultural events, and regular socials with free food and drinks.
Use the links below or on the left side to navigate the GSA pages and find important information. You can access information about housing, health insurance, travel grants, and more. Also feel free to drop us a line if you have other questions or cannot find the information you are looking for.
For general questions, email gsa-AT-fordham.edu. For travel grant inquiries, please contact the Vice President directly, at kagan@fordham.edu. For questions specifically relating to financial aid, admissions, housing, insurance, student services, symposia or conference planning, internal fellowships, or adjusting to graduate student life, please contact Nicol Gotsis, the Director of Student Development, in Keating 216/217.
