              The Southeastern Medieval Association

                               and

                 The Texas Medieval Association

               "The Apocalypse in the Middle Ages
                     (and in Modern Times)"

                       Baylor University
                          Waco, Texas
                        3-6 October 1996

  As always, the conference organizers welcome papers on *all*
   aspects of Medieval Art, History, Music, and Literature.

Given Waco's recent tragic involvement with apocalypticism at the
"Mount Carmel Compound," the organizers will feature sessions on
the apocalypse in the Middle Ages and--in special presentations
--the apocalypse as anticipated near Waco by Branch Davidians.

   Send proposals for sessions, abstracts (150-300 words), and
