The Dyckman House Architecture

Sondra E. Ganelli
()

With its gambrel roof and brick and fieldstone lower walls, the small farmhouse shows a strong Dutch influence. The summer kitchen at the south end may predate the rest of the house; the front and back porches were added in 1825.

There are period rooms including parlors and a colonial kitchen, as well as exhibits of artifacts from the area. To add to its splendor, a lovely porch is attached where one can sit and view the pedestrians as they pass along Broadway. On the grounds are a smokehouse and a military hut that were used during the British occupation.
