Requirements for the
History Major.
Students who
graduate with a major in History will receive a Bachelor of Arts
(B.A.) degree

History majors are
required to take
10 courses,
including:
A.
THREE INTRODUCTORY
CLASSES (from the Core)
HSRU 1000 or HSRF 1000: The
West from the Enlightenment to the Present
(AP credits in European History with a score of 4 or 5 can replace this class)
HSRU 1100 or HSRF 1100: Introduction to Modern American History
(AP credits in United States History with a score of 4 or 5 can replace this class)
HSRU 1300 or HSRF 1300: Introduction to Medieval History
B.
ONE GLOBAL COURSE
(A history course focused on the history of Africa, Latin America, Asia, or
the Middle East).
C.
ONE HISTORY SEMINAR, to be taken
in the Junior or Senior year
D. FIVE
HISTORY ELECTIVES

Students who minor in History are required
to take
6 courses,
including:
