Emergency Medical Services: About Us
Fordham University Emergency Medical Services (FUEMS) is a student-run, volunteer emergency medical agency certified by the New York State Department of Health as a Basic Life Support provider. FUEMS proudly serves the Fordham University community and supports the surrounding New York City community through emergency response, event coverage, education, and outreach.
Led by a dedicated team of student EMTs and student leaders, FUEMS provides emergency medical care to students, faculty, staff, and guests across campus. Our members also provide medical coverage for major university events, including athletic games, President’s Ball, Senior Week events, and other large gatherings throughout the academic year.
Our service extends beyond Fordham. FUEMS members regularly support major events throughout New York City, including the TCS New York City Marathon, while contributing their training and experience to large-scale community operations.
FUEMS has earned a strong reputation for excellence in collegiate EMS, receiving recognition and awards from both Fordham University and outside organizations. Our commitment to service goes beyond emergency response: members lead CPR and Stop the Bleed trainings, participate in community outreach initiatives, and work with local high schools and organizations to promote emergency preparedness and public health education.
