POSITION: Online Course Production Assistant

SUPERVISOR: FTC Instructional Technologist

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a part-time student worker to help in the Faculty Technology Center, with the main responsibility of creating and editing content for the online courses at the Graduate School of Social Services as well as supporting the use of the Brightspace Learning Management System. This will involve editing PowerPoint presentations; finding and citing images for those presentations; syncing them with a script; basic editing of audio files; and other work as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a registered Fordham University student in good standing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Graphic Design background and/or experience
  • Visual arts major/minor or a Fine Arts major is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create/format PPT presentations with appropriate visuals/animations from outline and transcript
  • Create/edit images and videos for online courses
  • Assist trainer with managing faculty workshops
  • Assist with Learning Management System administration, including copying courses and answering faculty technical questions
  • Other duties as assigned

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE (Training Provided):

  • Advanced PowerPoint/Word
  • Familiarity with audio/video formats and compression settings, like Audacity or Audition
  • Adobe Photoshop preferred

COMPENSATION: $16.00 per hour
