Professor Sanzari's research program focuses on applying lasers to the study of biological materials. He is currently collaborating with researchers at the Hospital for Special Surgery to study the properties of collagen.

Before joining the faculty in 1996, Professor Sanzari was a Program Manager at Kearfott Guidance & Navigation Corp. He is also a Visiting Research Scientist at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY.
