The International Graduate Research Program Berlin-New York-Toronto

The IGK Program Berlin-New York-Toronto is an interdisciplinary cooperation between the Technical University Berlin, the Free University, and Humboldt University in Germany; Fordham University, Columbia University, and the City University of New York in the United States; and York University and Toronto University in Canada.

The IGK program focuses on the concept and experience of metropolitanism and global cities since the 19th century. It offers exceptional research opportunities to urban historians as well as to students working on contemporary urban issues.

This program is open to graduate students in all urban disciplines at Fordham University. Students have the opportunity to study in Berlin for short periods in order to complete fieldwork and the research for their Master's Thesis or Ph.D. Dissertation. The program is taught in English and German.

Research Master in Urban Studies, University of Amsterdam

The Research Master in Urban Studies Program offers a two-year curriculum of study on the city and metropolitan experience. This program is open to graduate students in all urban disciplines at Fordham University. Students have the opportunity to study in Amsterdam for a semester or academic year in order to complete fieldwork and the research for their Master's Thesis.

This program is specifically tailored for students preparing for a career in academic research or strategic professional positions in urban and regional development. The program offers state of the art studies in comparative urban research, urban and economic geography, urban and regional planning and urban sociology. The program is taught in English, mostly focusing on Europe and North America, but also increasingly on Asian megacities.

Fordham University London Centre

Fordham University London Centre at Heythrop College at Kensington Square offers the opportunity for graduate students to complete their field study and thesis research in London. Research is undertaken with a faculty advisor. Students may take part in courses during summer session or during the academic year.

Fordham University Pretoria, South Africa

Fordham University's student exchange program with the University of Pretoria offers students the opportunity for both research and community service. This program may be undertaken in the summer in conjunction with IPED's emerging markets program or with the University of Pretoria's Department of Town and Regional Planning. Fordham's Ubuntu Service Learning Program offers study of study and engagement with local communities in Pretoria.
