Steven Paul McSloy
Steven Paul McSloy is a Partner in the Corporate Department at Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP and is based in New York City. He advises clients on corporate finance, capital markets, commercial lending, joint ventures and general corporate matters. He was previously a Partner in the Indian Law and Tribal Representations Practice at Dentons, Co-Chair of the Native American Practice at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, General Counsel of the Oneida Indian Nation of New York and its Turning Stone Casino Resort, a professor of American Indian Law at N.Y.U., Syracuse, Cardozo and St. John’s Law Schools, and he has spoken on Indian law issues at Harvard, Columbia and Yale and numerous bar associations and other conferences. Mr. McSloy specializes in American Indian Law and has worked on some of the largest and most complex financial transactions in Indian Country. He has published eight law review articles on sovereignty issues, and several of his articles have appeared in Indian Country Today. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School and his bachelor’s from N.Y.U. where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is a member of the bars of the United States Supreme Court, the Oneida Indian Nation Courts and the New York State courts.
