Alumni Career Networking Nite - March 29, 2007

We held our Annual Alumni Career Networking Nite in the 12th Floor Lounge of Fordham's Lowenstein Hall in midtown Manhattan overlooking Lincoln Center.

Our speakers were:

Ms. Gift and Ms. Lazaro spoke about their careers in investment banking and the need for strong quantitative skills.  Approximately half of our alumni are employed in the financial services industry.  Ms. Ilea spoke about her work in public service and the need to combine both political and economic analysis.  About a fourth of our alumni work in the public sector.  And Mr. Bastian spoke about the opportunities that exist in relief and development work in the non-profit sector.  He reported on his recent trip to East Timor and the good governance problems facing that country.  About 15% of our alumni work in the non-profit sector.
