STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Jesuit Philosophical Association (JPA) exists to further philosophical interchange among Jesuits in the field of philosophy. The JPA currently has about 85 active members. Membership is open to Jesuits engaged in (or preparing in or retired from) teaching and research in philosophy. Dues are US$ 15.00 per year. JPA members are encouraged to invite other Jesuits in the field to become members.

The JPA meets yearly, on the Friday of the fall meeting of the American Catholic Philosophical Association. The annual Proceedings contain the major papers to be given at the meeting; authors do not read their papers but instead give brief summaries leading to discussion.

The President of the JPA for 2005, who is responsible for arranging the major papers, is Thierry Meynard, S.J. of Fordham University. The Vice President, President-elect is Dan Hartnett, S.J., of Loyola University of Chicago and the Secretary-Treasurer is Joseph Koterski, S.J., of Fordham University. The Secretary-Treasurer is responsible for arranging the morning discussions and is editor of the Proceedings. The Executive Council includes the President, the Vice President, the Secretary-Treasurer, and the three immediate past presidents: John Langan, S.J., Christopher Cullen, S.J., and Bill Rehg, S.J. Inquiries, payment of dues and the like may be sent to Rev. Joseph Koterski, S.J., Philosophy Department, Fordham University, Bronx, NY 1045; e-mail: koterski@fordham.edu.
