CELL PHONES Use of cell phones is prohibited within the Law Library. Users should turn their phones off while in the library, and will be asked to leave if they refuse to cooperate. EATING, DRINKING AND SMOKINGEating, drinking and smoking are not permitted anywhere in the Law Library. Drinks in spill-proof containers and water in cups from the Librarys coolers are the only exceptions. All other food and drink will be confiscated by Library staff. There is a cafeteria available to Library users in the basement of the Law School building.
If the fire alarm bells sound and/or strobe lights flash, all library users will be directed to the closest fire exit. Do not use the elevator during a fire drill or if evacuation of the library is required. MESSAGESThe Library staff cannot page individuals. Messages may be left in the student mailboxes or attached to the various bulletin boards located throughout the law school building. Messages posted in the Library will be removed. Library users are asked to keep talking to a minimum so as not to disturb others; this is especially important during reading and exam periods. Persons who have been warned repeatedly about their noise level will be asked to leave the library. During reading and exam periods, stack levels 1 and 2 are designated "laptop-free" zones. Users of the library must wear shirts and shoes. SECURITY & LOST AND FOUNDWe strongly advise that you never leave valuables or personal papers unattended, particularly laptop computers. If you need to leave briefly, or do research in another part of the Library, and it is inconvenient to carry around your belongings, we can store them for you temporarily behind the Circulation Desk. Books, notebooks, clothing and other items of personal property left in the Library are sent to the Registrar's Office, located immediately outside the entrance to the Library in Room 103. |
