Welcome to the Fordham University School of   Law Leo T. Kissam Memorial Library. This guide has been prepared as an introduction to the Library and to assist you in your use of our facilities.

The Law Library is an open-stack collection of over 525,000 volumes, comprising all essential sources of American and public international law, many foreign legal sources and a wide range of related materials. In addition, the Law Library has significant holdings in European Community law and international antitrust law. The collection includes some 130,000 volumes in microform and periodical holdings of more than 3000 titles. We also have available several electronic subscriptions, to materials in CD-ROM or Web-based formats. The Law Library is a federal depository library.

The Main Reading Room, along with two other reading rooms and seating throughout the stacks, accommodate over 460 students, and include more than 230 individual study carrels.

The Law Library is staffed by eleven professional librarians, five para-professionals, eight full-time clerical staff and several part-time student assistants. Direct all your questions about library resources and policies to the Reference Librarian on duty, or to Michele Falkow, the Assistant Law Librarian for Public Services.

The Law Library has seven floors called stack levels. The Library entrance and Main Reading Room are on stack level 3 (referred to as "3s" or "S3" in our signs, directories and elevator), which is the first floor of the Law School building. To reach other stack levels, use the stairs to the left of the Circulation Desk or the elevator to the right of the Circulation Desk as you enter the Library. Another staircase in the Main Reading Room leads directly to the Upper Reading Room and Student Computer Lab on level 6s.
