Fordham University The Jesuit University of New York

What is Prism?...

The purpose of Prism is to offer a safe and welcoming place for LGBT students to explore and to deepen their relationship with God. It is a chance for our students to experience God’s unconditional love, and to explore the multiple aspects of their relationships with God, self, and others along side others who are doing the same. Prism draws from a foundation of Catholic-Christian spirituality and welcomes students of all backgrounds and experiences. In the spirit of the Jesuit educational tenet, Cura Personalis, and the USCCB Pastoral letter, Always our Children (1997), Campus Ministry wishes to offer our students, the ‘enormous spiritual resources’ of the church, and to enable our students to flourish spiritually as they "discover what they believe and find where they belong" through their time at Fordham.

What happens...
A team of student leaders facilitate reflections, large group discussion, community activities, individual reflection, prayer, small group sharing, and usual retreat goodies such as food, fun, and fellowship... as well as spontaneous community fun.
