Project Description: |
The group travels to the Dominican Republic to learn about education in rural areas and participate in efforts to expand educational access for young children. The group will also learn about Haitian-Dominican relations and issues facing Haitian immigrants in bateys, towns where sugarcane workers live and work.
The group also participates in educational field trips and visit cultural-historical sites to further develop their understanding of the history, culture, and heritage of the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean region.
