The team will work with the Working Boys’ Center (WBC) in Quito, Ecuador. The goal of the WBC today is to help the families of the working boys become stable, financially independent, have access to education, healthcare and quality basic services as well as become agents of change for social justice. The group will work with the WBC and assist with their many project including vocational programs, girls’ program and literacy education. The team will meet the year long volunteers of the WBC and get a feel for the work they do on a day-to-day basis as well as have the opportunity to shadow the volunteers in their work. The group will also have the opportunity to work in two of the local schools and tour the Church of the Companella- the Jesuit parish where the WBC began.
