"The Global Outreach Glenmary project exposes students to rural poverty and its related issues. It offers a stark contrast from the urban homelessness Fordham students are familiar with, and provides an opportunity for immersion in a truly foreign culture. I found the most striking aspect of rural poverty to be the simplicity of life. At the Glenmary farm, excesses are eliminated, a practice which teaches participants that material concerns only distract them from experiencing simple joys and appreciating true community." -Aimee Della Porta FCRH'10
