| Hotels For those wishing to stay near the conference, the Mayfower Hotel is located near Lincoln Center at 15 Central ParkWest at 61st Street (New York, NY 10023; 212-265-0060) and the Novotel New York Hotel is located at 226 W. 52nd Street (New York, NY 10019; 121-315-1313). Mention that you are attending a Fordham University conference. New York is served by three major airports and numerous airlines. The following one-way fares are approximate.
An airport service fee and bridge or tunnel tolls may be added to taxi fares. In addition, a new train service provides the fastest connection from Newark Airport to Penn Station in Manhattan. A monorail service links the airport to the AirTrain Newark Station, where New Jersey Transit trains to New York stop; the one-way fare is $11.15. New York also has good train service from New England, the Midwest, and the South. Amtrak intercity trains and commuter services from New Jersey and Long Island arrive at Penn Station (Seventh Ave. at 34th Street). Commuter trains from the north arrive at Grand Central Station. Those unfamiliar with New York are discouraged from driving into the city. If you wish to brave Midtown traffic, reduced-rate parking is available at the following garages: Preor Parking, 40-50 West 61st Street, between Columbus Avenue and Broadway; the rate is $11 for 12 hours. Allie Parking, 425 West 59th street, between 9th and 10th Avenues at the rate of $9 for 9 hours (212) 246-7220. Please Note: In ordr to receive these reduced rates, you must validate your parking ticket at the Front Security Desk at the entrance to Fordham University at 113 W. 60th Street. The conference venue is the 12th Floor Faculty Lounge of the Leon Lowenstein Building in the Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus, located at 113 West 60th Street (bounded by West 60th and West 62nd Streets, Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues). Fordham University's Lincoln Center Campus can be reached by subway (A, B, C, D, 1 and 9 to 59th Street at Columbus Circle), and by city bus (M5, M7, M11, M104). The one-way fare is $1.50. More information about public transportation in New York is available on
