Conference Housing

Because there is a limited number of beds available at Fordham’s Lincoln Center Residence Hall (meant primarily for graduate students and junior faculty), we expect that most registrants will find other housing in the city.

A limited number of rooms will be available at a reduced Fordham rate of $195 for a single and $225 for a deluxe room at the Hudson Hotel, located near the Lincoln Center campus, at 356 West 58th St. New York, NY 10023 (800-444-4786). To receive this rate, you must specifically request the Fordham rate at the time of booking. Note that this rate does not include NYC hotel taxes, which come to about 13% of the basic rate.

A limited number of beds will be available at the McMahon Residence Hall, next door to the conference venue at Fordham University, at 60th Street, between Columbus Avenue and Ninth Avenue in Manhattan. Please note that all rooms share baths with another room; for further information on these accommodations, click here. Charges are made on the following basis: (A) one person in a single room with one or two beds, $114; and (B) two people in a room with two single beds, $57 each. All persons staying in the Residence Hall must pre-register for Housing or the Security Guard will not admit them to the Hall. Thus, if you reserve a double room with two beds, the other person staying with you must also have registered for housing. No one will be allowed into the Residence Hall without a Housing Registration Pass. Note that if you wish to stay for three days and your roommate only stays for one day, you must pay the single room price for the other two days.

Rooms will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, although a block of rooms will be reserved for graduate students, who have until July 1, 2006 to take advantage of this offer; thereafter, their reservations will be taken on the same first-come, first-serve basis as other registrants.

In order to reserve a room, you must fill out the Conference Housing Request Form. Once we have received this request and verified the availability of rooms, we will confirm your housing via email and send you the URL of the housing registration web site, where you will be able to register and pay for housing online.  Make sure that you register and pay for Housing within a week of receiving this confirmation, since any rooms unpaid for after July 1, 2006 will be offered to those on the waiting list. Payment by check (American funds only) with a mail-in form is also available; simply print out the Conference Housing Registration Form that you receive once we notify you  of housing availability, fill it in, and mail it with a check for the proper amount to Center for Medieval Studies, Fordham University, Bronx, NY 10458.  If you pay by check, please send a separate check for the housing charges.
