Conference participants who need housing can either book a hotel room in Manhattan (there is a shuttle service costing $2 that runs between Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus in Manhattan and the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx, where the conference will take place) or they can reserve a single or double room at O’Hare Residence Hall (site of the conference); the Residence Hall rooms are limited in number, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

RESIDENCE HALL HOUSING
A limited number of beds will be available at the O’Hare Residence Hall, site of the conference venue at Fordham University in the Bronx, at 441 E. Fordham Road.  O’Hare Residence Hall is an air-conditioned, 3-wing, 5-level complex with 550 twin-size beds. Each double room (with two twin beds) has a private bathroom and single rooms share a private bathroom located between two rooms. There are also 13 social lounges, equipped with living room furniture, kitchenettes and a TV and VCR, 7 study lounges, and 4 seminar rooms. Residents are provided with bed linen (2 sheets, one pillowcase), one blanket, one pillow, one towel, one washcloth, and soap. Note that the rooms are not equipped with hangers or a clock.
Charges are made on the following basis: (A) one person in a room with one or two beds, $114; and (B) two people in a room with two single beds, $57 each. All persons staying in the Residence Hall must pre-register for Housing or the Security Guard will not admit them to the Hall. Thus, if you reserve a double room with two beds, the other person staying with you must also have registered for housing. No one will be allowed into the Residence Hall without a Housing Registration Pass. Note that if you wish to stay for three days and your roommate only stays for one day, you must pay the single room price for the other two days.  Rooms are available for the nights of Wednesday, June 13 through Monday, June 18, 2007.

In order to reserve a room, you must fill out the Conference Housing Request Form. Once we have received this request and verified the availability of rooms, we will confirm your housing via email and send you the URL of the housing registration web site, where you will be able to register and pay for housing online.  Make sure that you register and pay for Housing within a week of receiving this confirmation, since any rooms unpaid for after June 1, 2007 will be offered to those on the waiting list. Payment by check (American funds only) with a mail-in form is also available; simply print out the Conference Housing Registration Form that you receive once we notify you  of housing availability, fill it in, and mail it with a check for the proper amount to Center for Medieval Studies, Fordham University, Bronx, NY 10458.  If you pay by check, please send a separate check for the housing charges.

Housing Registration closed on Monday, June 11: thereafter it will not be possible to book Residence Hall housing on campus.
