Fordham University's Department of Philosophy (now more than 150 years old) enjoys a world-wide reputation. Especially renowned for its strengths in contemporary continental philosophy and medieval philosophy, the department offers at both the undergraduate and graduate levels a pluralistic program that recognizes the importance of a serious knowledge of the history of philosophy for informed, contemporary philosophical debate.
