Director of Public Relations, Coriell Institute for Medical Research, July 1990 to June 1991.
Responsibilities included writing, media relations, community relations, development
and presentation of promotional materials:
* Wrote, edited, and marketed press releases, brochures, and other informational
literature on the Institute;
* Developed and computerized an extensive list of media contacts for press
conferences,and special events;
* Wrote and produced our quarterly Discover newsletter;
* Developed and presented audio-visual programs;
* Handled inquiries, visits, and tours of the Institute;
* Assisted the Development staff with database maintainance, United Way
commitments, and other projects.
Editorial Assistant, Princeton University Press: July 1989-July 1990:
* Advised on the scholarly merit of manuscripts submitted;
* Assisted the Editor-in-Chief/Biology Editor;
* Managed projects in philosophy and political theory in preparation for the arrival of
a new editor for these disciplines;
* Oriented the new editor for Philosophy, Political Theory, & Religion to the Press's
lists and procedures;
* Assisted in acquisitions and finding reviewers for prospective publications;
* Completed spreadsheet cost/revenue forecasts for potential publications;
* Traveled to conferences to assist different Press editors.
Assistant, the Yale Development Office (summer of 1988). Assisted office business
manager in all aspects of her work, organized office, processed invoices, orders, mail etc.
