The Fordham Philosophical Society exists to further the professional development of Fordham's philosophy students and to serve as a voice for concerns that students have with various aspects of the program. In order to be of use it is crucial that you let us know what concerns you. To this end, please contact FPS with any concerns, suggestions, or ideas that we may help to address.

The following is a list of some of the initiatives on which FPS is currently working:

Coordinating upcoming Graduate Philosophical Symposia

Successful Initiatives

Comprehensive Exam Reform Proposal (opens new window)
Ongoing Biannual Symposium series (Eleven since Spring 2000)
Fostering Interdepartmental Dialogue through a co-sponsored Symposium with Political Science (Spring 2004)
Second Biennial Graduate Student Conference: "Metaphysics and Critique"
First Biennial Graduate Student Conference: "Philosophies of the Self: epistemological, metaphysical, and moral reflections"
Clarifying with the Graduate School that summer aid can be used to register for mentoring fees in one's forth year.
Maintaining the financial well-being of the FPS by securing funds for annual Symposia, Conferences, and other FPS sponsored events
